Orka

K9 Orka is a faithful partner to TSA K9 Handler Andy Jones. Orka was one of the first passenger screening K9s at LAX and screened thousands of passengers prior to them entering the security checkpoints at LAX, adding a necessary layer to the security there. Orka served from September 2014 until her retirement in September 2019. During her career she also participated in national events, such as the Rose Parade, Super Bowl 50, and deployed to San Juan Puerto Rico following the devastating hurricane in 2017. While on the deployment to San Juan, she subsequently was deployed to the Island of St. Thomas to assist with checked baggage screening after their airport was mostly closed due to the damage from the hurricane. Orka is a high energy, fun, loving dog. She has really enjoyed her retirement with her “brother” K9 Samson who retired when she started her career in 2014. Orka loves the dog beach most of all, and chasing the seagulls when she isn’t jumping into the waves to chase her ball. But mostly, she just enjoys being a dog and hanging out with her nylabone and humans.
