Bruno

  • Breed / Mix: Labrador Retriever
  • Age: 11 Years
  • Service: Federal Agency

After eight years of loyal service as a TSA explosives detection canine, K9 Bruno retired. Based mostly out of Atlanta, Georgia, and later Jackson, Mississippi, he spent his career keeping travelers safe by doing what he did best. Along the way, Bruno worked four Super Bowls, two Formula 1 races, two Final Fours, one Kentucky Derby, one All-Star game, and various other high-profile special assignments. He was always ready to help out fellow K9 teams too, deploying to airports including SEA, AUS, IAH, JFK, MIA, CLT, MSY, and SAV. He conducted two presidential searches, responded to five local bomb calls, and took part in countless joint-agency training exercises. Outside the high-stakes work, Bruno made time for community events—appearing at Girls in Aviation Days and local high school career days, where he got to meet plenty of kids who were thrilled to meet a real working dog. Now he’s enjoying the simple things: hanging out with his family, taking relaxed nature hikes, and getting lots of cuddles from his new housemate. After all those years of faithful work, he’s more than earned the quiet, happy days ahead.
