Ammo
“Ammo is a 10-year old black lab. He served with the US Capitol Police K-9 unit from July 2011 until his retirement on April 29, 2016, my retirement date. He was an explosive detection K-9. Ammo developed digestive issues during his time on the unit. He was treated many times at Ft. Belvior and he immediately was loved by the staff. They even had his picture as a background on one of their computers! Ammo was retired from service due to his issues to include a chronic cough. Ammo is enjoying retired life with his two labrador siblings, Bumpass and Tammy. Tammy is also an explosive detection K-9 and we work for a private security firm. Ammo enjoys swimming in his pool in the summer, balls of any kind, cuddling after a long day, and he loves pizza crust. Ammo is also registered with Pets on Wheels of Maryland where he visits assisted living centers for lots and lots of belly rubs”. – Ammo’s Dad
