Shana Crabtree
Shana Crabtree, MD grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, and now lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her background training in pediatric pulmonology took her all over the South—Vanderbilt University for BA in mathematics, University of Louisville for medical school, University of Virginia for pediatric residency and Texas Children’s in Houston for fellowship. She worked in private practice in Norfolk, Virginia for 3 years and in academia for 3.5 years at Wake Forest Baptist.
In the wake of covid and a personal loss culminating in burnout, she took the space of a year to start navigating her journey towards happiness. She chooses happiness and her mission of helping others every day!
Today, Shana actively serves as a leadership coach for Pohanka Automotive Group and is Treasurer for the Crabtree Family Foundation Board. She has returned to medicine as a Healthcare Coach to prevent burnout in healthcare and veterinary caregivers and supports projects that directly benefit staff and patients.
Shana volunteers for the same organizations that the family foundation supports including Best Friends Animal Society, Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love, Forsyth Humane Society, and Two Cities Church. She is a proud rescue mom of a great dane, Luna, and a hound mix, Olive. She competes in shag dance, which is the state dance of North and South Carolina. She is currently renovating a 1930 millhouse, raising bees, and planning on chickens in the near future. Fun fact – she continues to hold an NCAA goalie lacrosse record for most saves in a game (1997)!
