Dear Future Applicants,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Tim Fleming, Director of Operations for Paws of Honor. I am writing to you regarding an important matter that concerns our retired K9 applications.
For years, Paws of Honor has had the pleasure of making a significant difference in the lives of our retired K9 partners, thanks to the members, constituents and contributions made by people like you. Over time, we have marveled at the commitment and love that our community has shown towards our mission, which is to serve retired K9 heroes who have selflessly served us.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, notably limited funds and a decrease in contributions, we have made the difficult decision to adjust our acceptance of new K9 applications. We have started a waiting list so that we can accept new K9’s into our program as funding becomes available. These changes will take effect on January 1, 2024, and will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.
During this time, we plan to reassess our current model, evaluate our resources, and seek additional funding to better serve those who have given so much to us. We understand the emotional impact that this delay may have, but we also know that it is essential to preserve the long-term sustainability of our mission. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
However, we are making an exception for those who have a sponsor for their K9 for one year. For a total of $2,500, this sponsorship opportunity will not only enable us to immediately accept a new K9 into our program – for the rest of its life – but it will also provide a meaningful impact to the overall stability and longevity to the program. We encourage you to explore this option and contact our office to facilitate the donation and sponsorship process.
In closing, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your continued support and dedication towards Paws of Honor and our retired K9 heroes. You’re understanding and support during this time means the world to us and the K9 community we serve.
Thank you once again for your cooperation and understanding.
Warm Regards,
Tim Fleming
