Cezar

Meet Cezar—a retired US Capitol Police explosive-detection K9 who spent his career doing one of the most important jobs a dog can do: keeping people safe. He’s also living proof that a tough exterior and a ridiculous amount of determination can get you through just about anything. Cezar will be 9 years old in October, but don’t let the birthday fool you. This guy has packed more into his life than most dogs could fit into nine lives. At just three years old, Cezar was misdiagnosed with back problems. Things quickly became much more serious. He eventually needed a feeding tube, and after a long and difficult journey, he was finally diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis. But Cezar apparently didn’t get the memo that he was supposed to slow down. He fought his way back. He continued on. And somewhere along the way, he decided that retirement was simply a new assignment: being exceptionally good at being Cezar. Today, he spends his time enjoying chasing squirrels rabbits and anything that moves and reminding us how resilient he is.
