Honza

Meet Honza, a 10-year-old Belgian Malinois and explosive detection K9, who’s been protecting and serving alongside his handler since October 2016. He’s a familiar face throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), having provided K9 support to numerous jurisdictions. Much of his career has been focused on ensuring the safety and security of the Pentagon. This seasoned professional has also been a vital part of security details at numerous high-profile events, including inaugurations and the NATO summit. Honza’s favorite event to work has been the annual US Marine Corps Kids Fun Run. Honza’s most important duty is providing protection for the Secretary of Defense, a role he has faithfully fulfilled since 2016. He’s more than just a K9; he’s a dedicated partner and a true asset to the Pentagon and the NCR.
