K9 JD was part the Guiding Eyes Foundation when they discovered he was not a good fit for the organization. Thats when the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) picked him up and found his calling. JD was part of the explosive detection program with ATF from age 1 until retirement in 2023. He participated in several National Security Events in the National Capital Region to include the Marine Corp Marathon, and searched 1000’s of vehicles and packages within his career. Since his last day of work, he discovered that a recliner with a view of the TV is his favorite spot to lay. He loves keeping an eye on the children at home as if its new job and will eat any treat that comes his way.
