Hi, I’m LLynch a yellow Labrador Retriever that was trained in explosive detection at Lackland Air Force Base TX. I was name after a 911 victim Terence Lynch (Pentagon) part of TSA’s puppy program. In 2013 my life changed when I met my handler. We trained together for ten weeks learning our strengths and weaknesses. In August 2013 we graduated TSA’s explosive detection and became a K9 team. My assignment took me to Honolulu, Hawaii. I had a good career, I worked as a Sheriff K9 at the Daniel K. Inouye Honolulu International Airport searching luggage, mail, vehicles, Aircrafts and terminals. I’ve searched for former Presidents and Foreign Leaders, NFL PRO Bowl, NBA games and Honolulu Marathon to name a few. Many of my peers considered me a high drive canine, “slow” was not in my vocabulary. I was told many times that if I could drive my handler would be out of a job. I would tell them I still need someone to pick up my poop. I had to retire because my body let me down. I would hide the pain just to search and get my reward but, time caught up I couldn’t recover from my injuries. When I worked I gave it my all. In my spare time I was able to train my handler to take me on walks every day and twice on my days off, rain or shine. I love to play ball at the beach or home, I hold on to the ball and make my handler beg for it. This would drive him crazy, but I love it. My handler sets up a kiddie pool in the yard I love to jump in and splash around. I enjoy helping in gardening, I pull down pesky banana trees. My handler just cuts the leaves, but I show him how to pull down the tree. My favorite treat is a white bone (Checkups dental chew), I just can’t get enough of them. I wish I was still able go to work with my handler every day, I wait at the door hoping.
