Lycos

K9 Lycos joined the Galloway Township Police Department in September of 2011 and was partnered with K9 Officer Scott Winneberger. K9 Lycos was a patrol trained K9 and specialized in tracking, evidence search and criminal apprehension. K9 Lycos competed in regional competitions receiving many awards. K9 Lycos qualified for the 2013 National USPCA Police Dog Trials in Punta Gorda, Florida and although he did not win any awards at the National Trials, K9 Lycos had an outstanding performance. K9 Lycos had a very successful K9 career resulting in locating many missing persons and criminals. K9 Lycos once apprehended and subdued a criminal who attempted to use a sword against his handler protecting K9 Officer Winneberger from harm. K9 Lycos retired early in 2014 due to a medical issue and became a member of the Winneberger family. K9 Lycos enjoys retirement life and loves socializing with the neighborhood kids. K9 Lycos is the best house dog ever and in his older years enjoys his afternoon naps under the bushes in his yard.
