K-9 MOOSE (Brand T482) retired on April 8, 2021, at the age of 10 1/2. K-9 MOOSE trained at Auburn University and worked to provide world class security at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas, since 2012. During his career, the MOOSE provided support for special events, such as: (3) NFL Super Bowls, (2) NCAA Conference Final Four Championships, the Papal visit to DC, the DHS Secretary visit at the Texas-Mexico border, as well as assisting multiple Airports and Agencies on numerous occasions. One notable Agency was BORSTAR. The Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue Unit (BORSTAR) is a specialized unit of the United States Border Patrol trained in emergency search and rescue and medical response, to include the Working Dog. K-9 MOOSE enjoyed being a live participant for BORSTAR K-9 Medic Courses on many occasions. The MOOSE retired with his pack out of Marble Falls, Texas.
