K-9 Rex has served as a Police K-9 since April of 2015. K-9 Rex has served Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County and Pennsylvania. K-9 Rex was trained and certified in Patrol & Narcotics through the North American Police Work Dog Association in April of 2015. He re-certified in Patrol & Narcotics each year after that. K-9 Rex has been training and certifying at Iron Rose K-9. Cpl. Miller & K-9 Rex are assigned to the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police, Community Engagement Team, the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, the Dauphin County Drug Task Force Special Interdiction Unit, the Dauphin County Gang Task Force, the Dauphin County Mobile Field Force and the South Central PA Task Force. K-9 Rex has worked in 26 counties in PA. Cpl. Miller & K-9 Rex recently assisted in the manhunt in Chester County for the escaped murderer from the Chester County prison, Danelo Cavalcante. The U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force is assigned to serve violent criminal warrants. Marshal’s Warrant Attempts with K-9 Rex: 264 (140 no contact/124 arrested) Warrants Served: 124 Memorable moments: July 2020: K-9 Rex suffered a Heat stroke during training, fully recovered and back to work in a few weeks Sep. 2020 America’s Top Dog, Cpl. Miller & K-9 Rex flew to Los Angeles, California and were on a national TV show with Officer Elezovic & K-9 Chase. Oct 2020 Cpl. Miller & K-9 Rex were involved in a vehicle chase of robbery suspects that ended at 581/11-15 with 4 suspects in custody, 1 apprehended by K-9 Rex. We recovered $50,000 in merchandise. Cpl. Miller & K-9 Rex participated in 9 National Night outs, Christkindle in Linglestown, Fall Fest, 4th of July, numerous Cars, Cops, Coffee & K-9 events, several Christmas toy drives, Shop with a cop, Jubilee Day and the York Fair. *Cpl.
