Tara

Detection K9 Tara was procured by the United States Border Patrol in February 2016. She was whelped in the Netherlands. She spent almost a year I training before being assigned to the United States Border Patrol, Tucson Sector, in Arizona. K9 Tara was certified in Concealed Humands and Controlled Substances and predominately worked at various checkpoints and frequently assisted the United States Postal Inspector Service providing sniffs of vehicles and U.S. mail. Tara was found to be quite susceptible to high temperatures and her career was cut short for safety reasons. In August of 2020 she was retired in order to prioritize her health and safety. Despite her short career, K9 Tara was responsible for intercepting almost 400 pounds of Marijuana and several pounds of Heroin, as well as located numerous concealed humans smuggled into the United States.
