Trap

K9 Trap arrived from Europe on July 3, 2019 and served as a dedicated Explosives Detection Canine until his retirement on September 17, 2025. He began his career at John F. Kennedy International Airport and a few years later made his way to Kahului Airport in Maui. Throughout his career, Trap and his handler traveled numerous times to Oahu for training. The most memorable work trip was to Las Vegas where the team supported security operations at the Formula One Grand Prix in November 2023. After years of loyal service, Trap retired at the age of 7. Today, he enjoys a well-earned life of relaxation with his handler and her ‘ohana, trading in workdays for neighborhood strolls and sunny beach days.
