Willow is a retired PSC passenger screening (vapor wake) Department of Homeland Security TSA Explosives Detection Canine. She worked her entire career in Phoenix, Arizona. As a vapor wake canine she was certified to screen not only stationary items like trash receptacles, seating, counters, vehicles, aircraft, cargo, but also she actively screened individuals moving through an area. This is a specialized explosives certification, PSC, where the canine passes behind the moving individual(s) and can detect and respond to explosive vapor odor emanating from the individual(s). Willow and her handler attended advanced K911 training in Reno, Nevada. She also has participated in K9 training with K9s from other Federal and Law Enforcement agencies at Chase Field, State Farm Stadium, Talking Stick Casino, and the Arizona Air National Guard Range Four. Willow has provided canine passenger screening at several stadiums for athletic events, including Arizona State University Sun Devils Stadium and Phoenix Rising. Willow has been deployed to assist with PSC screening in Seattle and Honolulu. Willow provided canine surge event security screening at Super Bowl LVI in SoFi Stadium and the LA Convention Center. She even got her picture taken with the Super Bowl LVI Lombardi Trophy. Willow retired from Federal Service on November 19, 2022. She lives a life of leisure with her former handler, Sandy Whitehead.
