Zara

Canine Zara graduated the Front Royal, VA, Customs & Border Protection K-9 Canine Center in 2015, certified in Narcotics and Human Detection. She worked the various ports near Fort Lauderdale, FL in the US Customs cargo, seaport, airport, and pedestrian environments, as well as temporary assignments screening vehicle traffic at SW border ports of entry. Her primary ports worked were Port Everglades Seaport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport where she participated in numerous significant drug seizures. Zara was retired as she neared 10 years of age in November 2023 and currently resides with her former handler. She loves dog biscuits, hiding and burying her toys, and especially loves retrieving balls in larger open areas where she can run.
