Maggie is a former Secret Service K9 who spent her career protecting Americans in the Washington DC metro area. She is retired now and living out the remainder of her days with her family and former handler. As she aged, Maggie has developed a medical condition called Laryngeal Paralysis. This is a common medical condition in middle to older aged dogs, but Maggie’s condition has worsened to the point of needing surgical intervention. Her breathing has become extremely labored and difficult with the estimated cost of the surgery to correct it being $4,000.00-$5,000.00.
Paws of Honored covered 100% of the needed surgery to correct Maggie’s condition and she should be able to breathe much easier now. Her dad reports that she is still finding her limitations but is already feeling much better. It will take some time for her surgery site to heal but she is expected to make a full recovery.
