Veterinary Referral Associates Takes Care of Dani, a Retired White House Security Working Canine

Meet Dani, a retired working canine with an incredible story to share! This brave pup has protected the White House grounds and other venues, guarding three presidents throughout his career.

Dani faced some challenges this year, starting with bloating, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. He had his bloat surgery and splenectomy in Annapolis and then came to Veterinary Referral Associates to follow up on a cancerous lesion seen in his spleen. Thankfully Dr. Sara Fritz was able to give him the all clear after a whole body CT scan. During that scan we did confirm his degenerative lumbosacral disease, so Dani then had a consult with our sports medicine specialist, Dr. Matthew Brunke.
